ART & DESIGN | art 4 the internet: Dom Sebastian

Dom Sebastian is an artist and designer currently studying at textile design at Central Saint Martins. Working with a myriad of mediums like paint, photography, fashion design and music production. His photographic works have been popular among the internet community, with pastel-laden hues and elaborate still-life set-ups.

“When I started to see my work all over the internet I realised it was reaching a lot of people. It’s an amazing feeling seeing people engaging with and sharing something I’ve created.”

Behind the bright, 90's-inspired colours is Dom's true message - to "change perceptions on what is ugly and what is beautiful". He also has interest in blurring the idea on what is real and surreal.

Dom Sebastian's creations - especially the colours that he uses in his photographs and the way he treats his photographic subjects - gives a whole new meaning to "still life". The fact that the internet now has the ability to be accessed by almost anyone from anywhere is definitely a boon to artists - works can be seen by someone that enjoys your work although they live 10,000 kilometres away.

Till next time,
Yolande
